Low-Carb Keto Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks for Quick Snacks

These keto cheesy breadsticks are made with coconut flour and served with marinara on the side — utterly delicious and low in carbs.

I originally planned to make my almond-flour cheese straws, but the cupboard was empty of almond flour. On a whim I swapped in coconut flour and tried the recipe. The gamble paid off — the result was a cheesy, satisfying snack that’s become a favourite.

Breadstick Tips

This recipe is flexible — you can tweak texture and flavour easily. On my first batch I chilled the dough for 30 minutes, using half to shape breadsticks and the other half as dough balls. Both were good, but the breadsticks were preferred. On the second bake I skipped chilling and baked the dough immediately; those turned out softer and more pliable. The taste remains the same, but chilling affects texture.

Options to try: chill the dough for a firmer result, or bake right away for softer breadsticks; form dough balls instead of sticks; add extra spices like oregano or red pepper flakes; brush with garlic butter before serving; or sprinkle extra cheese on top. These breadsticks are addictive, so balance them with a simple salad or soup if you overindulge.

A practical note: they’re very filling. A single batch makes nine breadsticks depending on size, and it’s easy to feel satisfied after sharing. They also store well overnight in the refrigerator and make a great snack the next day.

Serve warm with marinara or garlic butter for dipping. They pair nicely with soups, salads, or alongside a low-carb pasta alternative.

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, grated Parmesan and grated Mozzarella until combined.

  • For a firmer breadstick, chill the dough for 30 minutes; for a softer breadstick, use the dough immediately.
