It’s been busy here these past few weeks, so I’m sharing a simple winter beverage and a peek at how I’ve been preparing the house for the holidays. Since my boys started college I make a point to have the home ready before they come home for winter break — cleaning, organizing, and decorating early so I can relax into cooking and entertaining when they arrive. My youngest, Adam, and his girlfriend, Mika, arrived last week and we were happily busy getting everything ready.

These Lipton Cold Brew Iced Tea bags make brewing a pitcher of tea quick and effortless. No boiling required — just steep the tea bags in cool water for a few minutes to make a smooth, fresh-brewed base.

To make this vibrant winter drink, I add cranberry juice, freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice, a touch of sugar, and slices of citrus to the cold-brewed tea. The result is bright, slightly tart, and perfect for holiday meals.

Decorating our nine-foot tree inspired a different approach to my table setting this year. I used clippings from the lower branches, apples, pine cones, and small votives to create a centerpiece that can stay on the table throughout the season. A few small decorative birds from my holiday collection fit right into the rustic pine scene. A wood-planked tray provides the perfect spot for the pitcher and serving dishes.

I added plaid placemats and simple white plates topped with a red accent plate to finish the festive look. It was an inexpensive update that brought warmth and charm to the room.

If you don’t have a live tree, check your grocery store’s floral department for inexpensive greens. Use ornaments you already own and add fresh touches like pine cones, apples, or pomegranates to keep costs low while creating a warm holiday atmosphere.

Whether your meal is casual or more formal, a ready table and a pitcher of this cranberry-citrus iced tea make entertaining simple and special. It pairs well with pasta, soups, stews, chili, or slow-cooker comfort food.

I hope your holidays are merry and bright, filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.
