A festive and easy holiday drink, these Tipsy Santa Shooters will have you feeling jolly in no time! Made with just two simple ingredients.

Tipsy Santa Shots
This colorful, two-ingredient shooter is perfect for holiday parties or Christmas hosting. The cinnamon-vanilla cream liqueur paired with sweet grenadine creates a festive red-and-white layer that looks impressive but is simple to make.
The flavor is slightly sweet with warm cinnamon and vanilla notes, and the drink is light enough that it won’t overpower your guests. The red and white layers resemble a Santa hat, which inspired the name “Tipsy Santa Shooters.”
The dramatic layered effect is achieved with an easy spoon technique—no bartending skills required. Read on for the straightforward instructions.

Ingredients (per serving)
- 1 oz RumChata (cinnamon and vanilla cream liqueur)
- 1 oz grenadine
Tools
- Coffee spoon
- 2 oz tall shot glass
About RumChata
RumChata is a rum-based cream liqueur flavored with cinnamon and vanilla, inspired by horchata. With about 13.7% alcohol by volume, it’s sweeter and less strong than straight rum and contains dairy, so keep that in mind for guests with allergies. If you can’t find RumChata, a similar cinnamon-vanilla cream liqueur will work.

What is Grenadine?
Grenadine is a non-alcoholic, sweet syrup known for its bright red color. It is commonly pomegranate-based (though sometimes fruit-flavored syrups are used) and is thick enough to form a stable bottom layer in layered drinks. Strawberry syrup can be used as a substitute if needed.

How to Layer the Shots
- Pour 1 oz grenadine into the bottom of a tall 2 oz shot glass.
- Place a spoon inside the glass with the rounded side facing up and the tip resting against the inside wall of the glass.
- Slowly pour 1 oz RumChata over the back of the spoon so it slides down the side of the glass and settles on top of the grenadine. Pour gently to keep the layers distinct.
- Optionally top with a small dollop of whipped cream, or serve as-is.

Note: This recipe is intended for readers 21+. Please enjoy responsibly.

Non-Alcoholic Version
Grenadine is non-alcoholic, so you can make a family-friendly version by replacing RumChata with a thick, creamy non-alcoholic alternative. Coconut milk works well for the look, though it’s less sweet. Sweetened condensed milk creates a creamier, sweeter result that pairs nicely with grenadine.
